The “International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians” welcomes all Rotarians and Rotaractors who love the sea, practice watersports, enjoy sailing / yachting, and are interested in joining the “IYFR”.
Widen your maritime horizon and come in contact with “IYFR”-members from all over the world at the “Meet and Greet Dinner” in the “Alsterlounge” yachting clubhouse and before that to a casual “Dinghy Sailing” on the “Alster” lake in the heart of Hamburg.
Dinghy Sailing on the Alster Lake
The Outer Alster is surrounded by ancient trees, green parks and beautiful mansions facing the city center. We will enjoy sailing together with small keelboats and possibly even slide into some casual regatta competition.
Depending on wind and weather conditions as well as qualified boat captains, this event may be cancelled on short notice. Please indicate your mobil nr.
Sailing shoes and rain jackets are recommended!- Please bring your sailing-licence documents with you, if existing
IYFR-Infopoint „Eye of the Wind“ Sandtorkai - 13:00 - 17:00 h
Eye of the Wind will berth right in front of the landmark Elbphilharmonie in the HafenCity quarter, Hamburg’s touristic hotspot. In addition to the IYFR promotion booth in the HOF, this authentic tall ship will hoist a huge IYFR-flag and serve as an outpost info stand for RIC-visitors interested in our Fellowship on the first day of the RI World Convention.
Meet and Greet dinner at „Alsterlounge“
This maritime clubhouse provides a breathtaking view across the ‘Aussenalster’ (next to “Barca” boat-rental). The ‘Alster’ is a big lake in the heart of Hamburg. With its perspective on this lake, the Alster-Steamboats, sailing boats, and the skyline of Hamburg, we can’t celebrate the IYFR ‘Meet&Greet’ more wonderful.
